01527 575553The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment, such as cherry pickers and scissor lifts. The IPAF training programme for platform operators is delivered through approved providers, with successful trainees awarded the PAL Card (Powered Access Licence), the most widely held and recognised proof of quality-assured training for platform operators in the world.
Being one of the most comprehensive platform operator safety courses in the industry, Up4Hire provide an IPAF operator with every powered access hire from our Bromsgrove base. Customers can be assured their operator has an understanding and awareness of accident prevention, safe operation and on-site responsibilities while working with the hired platform.
The card lasts for 5 years and shows the date on which the holder was assessed and the expiry date by which the holder would need to retrain. It also shows the type of equipment and level to which the operator has been trained. It has a holographic logo, photograph and signature.
Up4Hire operators will always carry their PAL card and present it on request to show they are IPAF trained and proficient as a platform operator. Customers can use the PAL Card Online Verification Tool to check a card is real.
The IPAF training course covers the main aims of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations, including LOLER regulations in respect of MEWPS (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms). The training course provides Up4Hire operators with an understanding of the need for accident prevention, safe operational procedures, emergency descent operations and the responsibilities of the employers and employees.
